In this presentation, Dr. Mike Large discusses utilizing AI in sample identification. He will cover radio frequency identification (RFID) technology and how to apply data and intelligence to RFID signals in the IVF lab. He will also discuss AI in PGT-A testing for aneuploidy, and how we can leverage assurance of sample and family identities through genetic assessment.
Mike is a Wisconsin native where he earned a B.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology. From there, he went on to earn his PhD at Baylor College of Medicine where he focused on the intersection of progesterone and growth factor signaling and their role in endometrial receptivity. He was then recruited by Mark Hughes of Genesis Genetics to open a PGT-A and R&D laboratory in Houston, Texas. Mike quickly rose to prominence as a technical expert and was instrumental in the adoption and implementation of Next Generation Sequencing. Shortly after being acquired by CooperSurgical, he was promoted to Director of Genomic Laboratories, overseeing multiple PGT-A labs in the US and Canada. In his most recent role, Mike was fortunate to lead R&D efforts in Genomics where his team developed the molecular and informatics platforms behind ERPeak, PGTai, PGTai 2.0, and PGT Complete. Mike is currently leading the CooperSurgical subsidiary Donor Egg Bank USA.
